We got to the trail head at 11:30am. The parking lot was full so we were expecting a ton of people. On the way up there were lots of bigger groups coming down. The trail is in great condition. As you start the switchback portion of the hike, there are lots of rocks, so make sure you watch your footing. There were trail runners heading up and down as we hiked. They must have better footing than I do. The trail is uphill, but gradual enough. Once we got to the top of the trail, we had a great view of the lake, but it was a little foggy. Once we hiked down into the lake, the fog started lifting. It's a beautiful lake. We found a nice spot to eat lunch. Ate quickly as we were on a timeline and headed back. There weren't any bugs at all, but it was a little cold. A light down jacket was perfect for a nice lunch break. Heading back uphill to get to the ridge is always fun, but the trail back down was easy. We did see some others coming up as we were heading out at about 2:30. Great day hike.
